Remember the YouTube channel Royal Nonesuch with the homemade gun guy who posts all those do not try this at home type videos? Like the one where he shoots a .50BMG out of a homemade 12g shotgun. Well he posted a video earlier this year of a hardware store pistol build for when the world goes down the drain. It was actually a pretty interesting design, it kind of looks like an FP-45 Liberator pistol from WWII. Well the designer of the apocalypse pistol build Mark Serbu of Serbu Firearms posted a more in depth video of the pistol showing the initial design in CAD. One part they didn’t buy at Home Depot was the breech which was made from a scrap piece of .22lr barrel they had laying around that they turned down and welded into the barrel.

The single shot pistol is really simple and it actually looks like a firearm, unlike this zip gun that was confiscated in South Africa or this homemade pen gun from Australia that was actually being manufactured and sold to gang members.

While a homemade gun wouldn’t be my first choice for use if the SHTF, it’s better than nothing I suppose. Check it out in action in the video below.
